People are attracted to Cape Vincent because of our quaint, quiet, small-town feel, our charming, historic central business district, and the sense of community that comes from maintaining an appropriate scale of development and growth. We will work to attract new residents and businesses to the community, while ensuring that growth and development do not compromise the elements of quality of life that have drawn us to Cape Vincent.
Attract Investment through Promotion of Small, Localized Businesses
Recognizing that the financial success of locally-owned businesses creates economic impact in our community, we will work to diversify and expand business offerings in Cape Vincent. Special attention, focus, and priority will be given to ventures that are locally owned and operated, and that are designed to serve residents and visitors to Cape Vincent.
Protect the Environment
Our most valuable asset, the St. Lawrence River and its associated watershed, are critical to the economic success of Cape Vincent. As such, we will ensure that future development respects the environment and enhances our connection to the river, to local agriculture, and to other environmental and cultural assets that drive our economic success.
Engaged Governance
We understand that great communities are built intentionally. We will dedicate ourselves to and remain a vital part of the local decision-making process with the aim of ensuring economic success for our residents, an unmatched quality of life, and a sustainable, resilient future for the Cape Vincent community. Board members will thoroughly analyze all matters before the organization, and make decisions aligned with the organization’s core values.
